Day 1: Webcor’s Founding

On January 19th, 1971, Webcor was officially founded by Bill Wilson, Ross Edwards, Dave Boyd, and Miller Ream (the CO comes from “company”) in San Mateo, California.  The founding mission for Webcor largely remains the same today: “Build with unmatched innovation and efficiency.” Over the course of their tenure, Ross Edwards and Dave Boyd would take turns serving as CEO.

Did you know? Webcor’s original logo – including Webcor’s iconic crane – was commissioned by Ross Edward’s friend, Nick Sayer for $35. “It was a pretty good deal,” Ross recalls. “That’s one of the first things people see when passing by a jobsite. There’s so much value behind our logo.”
